"The Falcon's Nest"
I have been planning and strategizing about the best way to go about building a Custom Lego business for several years now. I decided I would build models based on vehicles from some of my favorite Movies/Series such as: "Kelly's Heroes", "Battle of the Bulge", "The Bridge at Remagen", "Saving Private Ryan", "Indiana Jones", "Windtalkers", "Band of Brothers", "The Dirty Dozen" and many, many others. I modeled many of my custom Lego models, sets and kits and custom Lego minifigure characters based on the equipment and characters in movies.
I began building custom Lego parts mainly castle after castle, to quarter all my collected Lego minifig armies. Here is one of my custom castle creations. A castle that would sit across a crevasse, ravine or on a small island (close to land), or surrounded by a moat.
When creating a new custom Lego minifigure character, building a new model, or designing a Lego themed Propaganda Poster featuring custom Lego models and minifigures, I do alot of research, collecting images to help guide my design and inspire creativity. Here's just a few pictures that have helped me during the design phase of various custom Lego models and minifigure sets.
(Above) I designed the custom lego WW1 Commander and Gas mask soldier minifigures based partially on this uniform and helmet design. I added Woody's Pickel helmet and gas mask, and Brick Forge gear to finish the look.
(Above) This image was one I used to help design the custom Lego WW2 SAS Raider vehicle and minifig.
(Below) This image was used to check color for the uniform I designed for the custom pad printed russian torso assembly used in my custom Lego WW2 Russian, soldier, commander and political officer minifigs.

I have been a fan and collector of Lego's since I was a wee lad. At the age of 16, I bought my very first custom Lego minifig set, the Forestmans hideout, and...SHAZAM I was an instant Lego-Maniac. I began collecting set after set, Pirates, Islanders, Knights, Imperial guards, Undersea, Star Wars, Space Shuttle, Western, Cavalry, Indians, military soldier Legos and the list goes on and on.
